01
Tourism Burnaby needed to show what visitors are worth to the city. That meant explaining three kinds of economic impact: direct, indirect and induced. Each one comes with its own figures. Numbers alone would not hold an audience for three minutes.
02
We built the story around three visitors. A family at the Halloween Festival, a clean energy conference and the Global Ringette Championships. Each visitor unlocks one type of impact. A paper plane links the scenes and carries viewers across the city. Infographics land the numbers inside each story.
the story in eight stops
The script flies from one visitor to the next. Here is the path it takes, frame by frame.

sketch first, then animate
We storyboarded the script panel by panel before any color went down. Each panel paired a line of narration with a clear action. Pick a panel to compare the sketch with the finished frame.

the final artwork
Warm city colors, real Burnaby landmarks and a cast of visitors with personality. Data graphics sit inside the scenes so the numbers never feel like a slide deck.
