01
MNU represents more than 13,000 nurses across Manitoba. Many members do not know how the union is structured or who to call when something goes wrong at work. The video had to explain Locals, Regions, executives, the Board, the AGM and bargaining. All of it in about two minutes.
02
We followed one hero nurse through her union. She starts at her worksite with her crew. Then she speaks up about a concern and gets support from her President. Each level of the union appears as she needs it. Icons and labels keep the structure easy to follow. The video ends with simple ways to get involved.
the union in eight steps
The script builds the union one level at a time. Here is the path it takes, frame by frame.
sketch first, then animate
We storyboarded the script panel by panel before any line went down. Each panel paired a line of narration with a clear action. Pick a panel to compare the sketch with the finished frame.
"Your President is trained and trusted to support you."
She is shown with the President and a Labour Relations Officer.
the final artwork
A clean whiteboard style with a hand-drawn feel. Simple icons and labels explain each part of the union without clutter.
